Help Us Save Our Lady of Loretto Chapel
Our Lady of Loretto Chapel, recognized on the national and Wisconsin registries of historic landmarks, sits on top of the highest hill in St. Nazianz, Wisconsin - Loretto Hill.
The Chapel is in desperate need of renovation. Beetles have infested the floor and it must be replaced. We need your help to restore this historic landmark and maintain its integrity for generations to come.
Loretto Chapel renovations were completed in late September last year. Our initial fundraising goal was $16,000, and we raised $10,388.72 of that total.
Unfortunately, as with most renovation projects, the estimate went over, and the completed renovation cost came in at $20,034.48.
Though we fell short of our fundraising goal to cover the entire cost, we remained committed to finishing the renovation to honor Our Lady of Loretto.
The first Mass in the renovated chapel was celebrated by our USA Provincial, Fr. Jeff Wocken, SDS, with a small group in October 2020.
The Society has taken on the upkeep of Loretto Chapel grounds, which had been cared for by volunteers previously.
Still Time to Donate
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it know that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin o Virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
