In 1892, Father Francis Jordan - the Founder
of the Society of the Divine Savior - sent several Brothers and Priests from Europe to the mission territories
in the northwest part of the United States. Others followed them. This was the beginning of what would become the
USA Province. Today the members of the Society - part of “The Salvatorian Family” - minister “by all ways and means
possible” (Jordan’s directive) in many parts of the country. We are indebted to the Salvatorian pioneers who first came
to this land and who left us their legacy of faith, courage, determination, and joy. They are truly “our ancestors
in faith.” Supported by the example of ministry they gave us, we look to the future to find our place and our mission,
always aware of those who have gone before us. As we stand tall to see that future, these are the people
On Whose Shoulders We Stand.
